Sweet 16 Cherry Blossom Cake

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a fondant cake. I was soo excited to get this cake order for a cherry blossom cake for a girl at my school’s sweet 16. It was a very exciting experience as I’ve never done a cake like this before. Her party was cherry blossom themed, so the cake I made followed that theme as well.

Pink Ruffle Cake {Cake 4 Kids Cake #10}

It has been a REALLY long time since I’ve made a cake for “Cake 4 Kids” and I’m so glad I finally made time to make a cake for them. (For more info on Cake 4 Kids, check out my Cake 4 Kids page.)

This time I made a cake for a little girl’s 2nd birthday. For this cake, I decided to use frosting to decorate instead of fondant to broaden my icing decorating skills.

Pretty Pink Baby Shower Cake

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a decorated cake, so I was really happy to get an order to make a baby shower cake for a couple who are having a baby girl!

Like the last baby shower cake I made, this one was also SO much fun to make. For some reason, I just love sculpting fondant into little baby toys and teddy bears. Because this cake was for a girl, I got to put a bunch of little girly details like the tiny flowers and the pink bow on the bear’s head.

French Macarons

Hi everyone! Today I will be sharing a dessert that has been on my baking bucket list for the longest time- French Macarons!

These are very pretty and delicate sugary treats.

Just to make it clear, Macarons are not the same as Macaroons. I know a lot of people are confused about what the difference is, and the difference is that Macarons are almond based while Macaroons are coconut based.

Buttercream Rose Cake

Hi everyone, last weekend I made a buttercream rose cake. I used a 2 layer 6 inch chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream tinted pink with a bit of orange. To make the roses, I  made swirls that looked like rosettes on the sides and top of the cake. I started at the bottom of the cake and made my way to the top. This is a really simple cake and is very forgiving because even if you mess up on one rose all you have to do is scrape it off and try again! We had a few guests over and they enjoyed the cake with us.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This year for valentine’s day I made pink vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting and a pink flower made of frosting on top. I used wilton’s gel food coloring to make my cupcakes pink. I could only take pictures of the cupcakes before they were frosted because I didn’t make that many so they were already eaten by everyone (including me) before I had the chance to take anymore pics.
